My siblings and I were lucky enough to grow up with our 5 cousins nearby and we spent huge amounts of time together.
Over the decades we have remained very close, added cousin-in-laws, & kids, and despite some of us moving away, I realize that this is a luxury that many people are not afforded.
Losing Dad in 2024 made us even more committed to prioritizing family events.
As individual families grow & grow, blossoming to include second & third cousins now, everyone gets together as often as possible and will travel to do it.
My oldest cousin Joe has been with his lovely partner for decades, she’s already so much a part of the family we kind of forgot they weren’t married; but after a bit of a challenge on the health front, they decided to tie the knot.
We all came.
From near and far.
To Fireside Grill Victoria - our family’s favourite fine dining spot. (You should go there)
And I got to make their cake. 😊🍰
You have to meet Joe only once to see that he has a heart as big as a house, and sometimes (a lot of times) a sense of humour that is much MUCH larger than life.
He is a force.🩷
He is a bit of an irreverent loveable beast too. 😏
That’s why if you looked closely while they cut their lemon 🍋 raspberry wedding cake, you might notice the cake topper.
Beauty and the Beast.
Only happy fairytale endings were on the menu this day for Joe and Zee. 🤍
