Together with the artists, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Bahamas concert at the O’Rourke Family Estate Amphitheatre due to the extreme smoke conditions in the area. The air quality poses a health hazard to attendees, performers, and staff, and their safety is our priority.

We’re disappointed to make this call after working so hard to bring Bahamas here, but the wellbeing of our community comes first.

We are working closely with Bahamas to find an alternative concert date, likely in the fall, due to their busy tour schedule.

Step into the kitchen with as he builds this weekend’s feature lamb dish at Row 188. It comes together with fresh vegetables from our estate garden and salsola from our local farm partner, .farm.

Salsola, known in Japan as okahijiki or “land seaweed,” is one of the country’s oldest cultivated vegetables. The name comes from the way it grows on land (oka) but looks like seaweed (hijiki): slender, succulent green stems with a naturally salty, briny bite.

That salinity is what makes it work in the dish. Rather than sitting on top, the okahijiki seasons from within, lifting the estate vegetables and cutting the richness of the lamb, with a crisp texture for contrast.

You won’t find salsola on most grocery shelves. It doesn’t hold long once it’s cut, so it has to be sourced locally and used fresh. A big thank you to .farm for cutting this batch fresh this morning.

Some of the most important moments begin with a simple invitation.

Long before the vines were planted, Adrian Baker walked the property with Dennis O'Rourke, imagining the future of what would become O'Rourke Family Estate. Their tour concluded at a home newly acquired by the estate, where two Adirondack chairs overlooked the valley below.

As they took their seats, Dennis smiled and said, "Well Adrian... We've been waiting for you."

There, among the rolling hills and endless possibility, Adrian signed his contract as the first winemaker of O'Rourke Family Estate.

The chairs remain today as an homage to the late Adrian Baker's lasting influence and the vision he helped bring to life before his passing.

Our Waiting For You Pinot Noir takes its name from that defining moment. A story of arrival, belonging, and legacy.

The South Okanagan holds some of the warmest, driest growing conditions in the country. Rocky cliff faces, south-facing slopes, and proximity to Skaha Lake create an environment built for serious red wine.

This season, Dennis and Elizabeth O’Rourke flew down to the new estate vineyard with their friend George and grandson Jack to plant the first vines. The property covers 142 acres, with 36 planted in this first phase.

The goal is straightforward: bigger, bolder reds, grown from a site that earns them.
