Free kids crepe!! That got your attention - read on!!

We have a beautiful old horse chestnut tree in our Cafe patio. One of our regular guests is incredibly crafty and makes fabulous crafts with these - you know who you are!! She suggested we post for our followers to gather up the horse chestnuts from our patio and make their own crafts. So here is the challenge:

-Kids can ask our staff for one of our gathering boxes.
-Fill this box up with horse chestnuts from our patio - on 1 or more visits - we will look after it for you as you can put your name on it.
-Parents/guardians to share their chosen craft on their social media and tag us (either FB or IG).
-We will acknowledge your post and invite you to come grab a free kids crepe from our kids menu anytime while the horse chestnuts last - and let me tell you they stick around for a while on our patio.

We proudly serve as drip coffee, Lattes, Mochas and Canadianos. We changed the name from Americano to Canadiano in 2025 as a small way in supporting the movement.

☕ Why cafés are switching the name
Recent reporting shows the shift started gaining national attention in February 2025, when Kicking Horse Coffee (BC-based) publicly encouraged cafés across Canada to rename the Americano. They’d already been quietly using “Canadiano” for 16 years.

What began as a playful inside joke turned into a country-wide conversation about identity, food culture, and a bit of cheeky patriotism.

Some cafés embraced it as fun branding; others saw it as a subtle cultural statement.

🌎 A rebrand of a rebrand

The irony? The Americano itself was originally a rebrand — named for American soldiers in Italy during WWII. Now Canada is flipping the script and giving it a local twist.

🍑👋 GOODBYE AUGUST

Thanks for all the sunny patio hangs, peachy smiles, and sweet summer vibes. You made this month delicious.

We’re nearing the end of our August Monthly Special, and it’s been such a hit.
