This Thanksgiving, our hearts are full.

Just a few short weeks ago, we opened Casa Riva with a dream of bringing a little piece of Southern Italy to Ladysmith. We never imagined how warmly this wonderful community would welcome us. ❤️

From the familiar faces and kind words to the incredible support for our Thanksgiving focaccia, you’ve given us so much to be grateful for.

The long weekend is almost here, and so is the gravy.

A quick Casa Riva note before the turkey hits the table:
Our gluten-free focaccia is still available for preorder. If it’s part of your Thanksgiving spread, grab yours before we sell out.

Pickup is ready for you even while the dining room is closed.

We are closed Sunday, October 11, except for order pickups. Come grab what you ordered, then go enjoy the long weekend.
Monday is Thanksgiving. We will be right there with you in the turkey coma.

And once the leftovers are gone and the couch has released you, the new fall menu launches. Seasonal plates, cooler-weather comfort, the good stuff. Details coming right after the long weekend.

October 11 - Preorder Details 🍂

Thanksgiving is our favourite kind of thank you.
To every person who’s walked through our doors since we opened - who sat at our tables, enjoyed the food, and helped turn this little coastal Italian house into a gathering place - we’re so grateful.

As a small way of saying thank you, we’re offering 300g gluten-free mini focaccia loaves on Thanksgiving Sunday for only $9.
Same recipe you’ve been raving about. Baked in our fully gluten-free kitchen with our custom Millstone Farm flour.

Want to make it extra? Add a flavoured butter for $3!
• Whipped lemon garlic butter
• Calabrian chilli + honey butter

This is a trial run, so we’re only taking a limited number of orders. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Pickup will be between 12-3 on October 11, 2026.

Sundays are changing at Casa Riva. 🤍

With the seasons beginning to shift, and with the incredible demand we’ve been seeing for dinner reservations, we’ve made the decision to move from Sunday brunch to Sunday lunch + dinner.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for brunch. We loved sharing those Sunday mornings with you. 🥂

Brunch will return in the spring for special occasions like Easter and Mother’s Day.

For now, Sundays are for long lunches, beautiful dinners, good w**e, and time around the table. 🍷

Two weeks in, and our hearts are full.

To everyone who has walked through our doors - neighbours, visitors, old friends, and new faces from near and far - thank you. The warmth, the excitement, the packed tables, and the kind words have meant more than we can say. Every plate we send out carries that gratitude. You showed up for us, and we feel it in every service.

We also want to share a very special thank you.
While our kitchen was still under renovation, the Eagle Hall in Ladysmith opened their commercial kitchen to us so we could serve our catering clients and prep everything we needed to open without delay once our equipment arrived and was installed. That generosity made the difference. It helped our dream become real.

We’re so happy to share something that means a lot to us.

Casa Riva is a completely gluten-free facility.

Every dish. Every pasta. Every bite.

We’ve partnered with Millstone Farm right here on Vancouver Island to create our own custom flour mixes that are 100% gluten-free and organic. This collaboration lets us stay true to the soul of coastal Italian cooking while making sure everyone can gather at the table without compromise.

We know many people feel that “gluten-free” means sacrificing flavour, texture, or that comforting quality they love in a dish. Trust us when we say - that’s not the case here. If we didn’t tell you, you truly wouldn’t know. That’s the beauty of thoughtful cooking and uncompromising care in every detail.

Whether you need gluten-free or simply love great food, you’re welcome here. We’re proud to offer a space where no one has to miss out. We are truly happy to work with all dietary needs with commitment and care.
