Duff Becker had a rough upbringing that led him to alcohol and other coping actions, but he was a kind spirit, always helping, say those that knew him.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Duff’s passing last weekend. Duff was a compassionate, friendly and resilient member of the Downtown community. He spread his humour and kindness to anyone and everyone, and encouraged others to see the humanity and value in those most marginalized in our community. Duff was always willing to spark a conversation with strangers - so, in memory and honour of him, say “hello” or “good morning” to a stranger this week. Show kindness when someone least expects it. Visit Queen Street Commons Cafe, a place he loved and frequented. Or donate to The Working Centre, an organization that offered him, and so many others, unwavering support and love during the most difficult times in life.
