I love matcha, and I love our trilece… so I decided to bring the two together.

Meet our **Matcha Milk Cake.** 💚

I only bake and serve what I genuinely love to eat myself, and this one is no exception.

Even if you’ve never tried matcha before, this one might surprise you.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Happy Father’s Day.

To the fathers and father figures who make us feel safe, supported, encouraged, and loved—thank you.

The everyday moments, the sacrifices, the guidance, the quiet acts of care... they matter more than words can say.

Today, we celebrate you and the difference you make in the lives of those who love you.

❤️

**I never really liked baklava growing up.**

Not because I didn’t love the pastry or the pistachios.

It was because so much of it was just too sweet.

I always wanted to taste the pistachios, the butter, and those delicate flaky layers, not just the syrup.

So this is the baklava I love.

Made with about 50% less sugar and more than twice the amount of first grade Antep pistachios from Türkiye. In fact, we’re currently paying $92 per kilo for our pistachios.

Could we use less? Sure.

Could we use a lower grade pistachio? Sure.

But when the pistachios are this good, I want them to be the star.

Rich. Nutty. Flaky. Balanced.

Not everyone’s idea of baklava.

But definitely mine. 💚🇹🇷

The sun hits different inside Crushed Almond.
Maybe it’s the light pouring through the windows.
Maybe it’s the conversations that linger a little longer.
Maybe it’s the feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be, even if only for a little while.
In a world that moves so fast, there is something special about finding a place that lets you slow down.
These quiet moments never get old. ☀️

Eid Mubarak from our family to yours. ❤️

May your home be filled with warmth, your table surrounded by loved ones, and your days ahead filled with peace, kindness, and sweet moments shared together.
There’s something special about gathering over tea, baklava, kadayıf, and stories that somehow feel even more meaningful this time of year.

Thank you for letting us be a small part of your celebrations.

With love,
Ferah & the Crushed Almond family

**I had to do a double take yesterday. 😂**

Jordan was in the back doing some maintenance when Brandon walked through the front door.

For a second, I thought I was seeing the same person twice.

We knew they weren’t related, but the resemblance was so uncanny that I had to introduce them to each other.

*”Jordan, meet Brandon. Brandon, meet Jordan.”*

The first thing they did was laugh.

Then we discovered both of their fathers are from Ottawa. 👀

And just when we thought the coincidence couldn’t get any stranger...

They both crossed their arms at exactly the same time without even realizing it. 😂

I managed to get a photo because honestly, nobody was going to believe this story otherwise.

Now we’re not saying they’re related...

We’re just saying today’s episode of *Crushed Almond Mysteries* practically wrote itself.

📸 Tell us honestly... do you see it too?

❤️

This gives people a reason to swipe to the photo and comment, because now they’re looking for the resemblance *and* the synchronized pose. 😄

Eid is near.

Soon tables will fill, tea will be poured, baklava will be shared, and loved ones will gather once again.

For many of us, some of our favourite memories begin around a table. A cup of tea in hand, a sweet treat to pass around, and time spent with the people who matter most.

If baklava, kadayıf, Turkish delight, or a box of sweets are part of your Eid tradition, we recommend placing your order soon. Everything is baked fresh and quantities are limited.

We look forward to being a small part of your celebrations. ❤️
