Monstera plants can reach up to 6 to 8 feet tall when taken care of properly, lucky for you we've got some tips to help you in your journey to a tropical jungle!

☀️Medium to bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun which is likely to cause burnt foliage. Monsteras adapt to lower humidity levels but will appreciate the occasional misting between irrigations.

💧Allow soil to partially dry between thorough irrigations. Water until liquid runs from drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and discard excess water. Do not allow your plant to sit in standing water as it will lead to root rot.

🌿Use during the growing season- spring, summer, and early autumn. The best fertilizer to use is a balanced 20-20-20 or one that is similar.

Last Saturday, July 4, was 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶’𝘀! 🏎️💨 The SPARC RC hosted the Colasanti Classic Tournament 🏁

Saturday morning got off to a slower start than planned, as club members had some extra track cleanup to tackle following Friday night’s fierce storm. But a little mud and extra work couldn’t dampen the racers’ spirits! The track was cleaned up, the RC cars were ready, and the heats got underway. 🙌

SPARC RC Racing has been operating for more than 20 years! The club is a registered non-profit corporation run by dedicated volunteers who share a passion for RC racing.

Spectators can watch 1/10th and 1/8th scale trucks, buggies, short course trucks and truggies race around the club’s outdoor track, located on the east side of Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens.

Fred is a big personality here at Colasantil’s.

🥕 He loves to chat and socialize with guests and our goat friends. I'll give you an insider scoop, if you have a treat for him… he'll be your best friend for life!

🐖 Some of Fred’s favourite pastimes (beside eating) is playing tag with the zookeepers, and if you're lucky you can see him in action.

🩷 Don't let his size scare you, he’s what we call a "Gentle Giant”. Our boy loves a good belly rub!

Orchids are surprisingly easy to care for, despite their exotic look!

With the right amount of love, and by following these care tips below, these beauties can add a much needed pop of colour to any space!💐💜

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬
☀️ This plant needs filtered or dappled sunlight. Place it in a well-lit room with windows, away from direct light. A sunny window with sheer curtains is also a good idea!
💧Soak the growing medium (bark) for 5-10 minutes and then thoroughly drain any excess water. Once the roots of your plant turn white/grey, the orchid is ready to be watered again. This should happen every week or two.
🌿 Use an orchid-specific fertilizer that is specially formulated for the needs of these plants.
