Big John's Smash & Smoke

04/19/2026

Walls are painted...ceilings are going in...floors to come! Excitement is building, and so are we guys! -This May is going to be Smashin'! (And Smokin' too!)

03/13/2026

Things are progressing well toward our goal of an April/May opening, so now is the time to start building our team! If you are looking to be a part of Kincardine's newest unique food experience we want to hear from you. At Big John's our open kitchen design means everyone works as a team all the time and customer interaction will be the norm, not the exception. If that sounds like something you are ready to explore, email your resume and cover letter to
[email protected]
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected to move on with our team process will be contacted for an interview.

Progress people!! Walls are being framed, wires are being run...not going to lie---excitement is building!! Best part about daylight savings time this year? Big John's is an hour closer to opening!!!

Lots of progress happening at the new spot!!! Drop by The Bruce Kincardine for a tasty lunch feature!!

Sunshine has us all in a good mood....especially our own Big John! We are all getting excited for his Smash and Smoke to open, and so our lunch feature today is a Big John's Double Smashburger!! Two smash patties with onions, cheese, and sliced dill pickles on a griddled bun with fries for $20 while they last!! (Big John also recommends BACON)

So BIG NEWS!! All those pesky little ducks have finally got into a row, and we are moving forward!!! Things are happening--signs are coming, and soon our space will be echoing with the sounds of lions, tigers, and bears...(okay, contractors, electricians and plumbers but still).

Merry Christmas one and all!! Looking forward to getting this adventure off the ground in 2026!

Thanks to everyone who messaged me about our banner at the new location flapping in the wind...it seems even Mother Nature is getting a little impatient for us to open up!! She sent some gale force winds to tear grommets off the banner. Rest assured, we are still working away at getting open, and the banner has just been moved inside to the front windows. 😀

So we have an update...and much like the Jays, it is not the result we wanted, but even the best laid plans are subject the whim of Father Time! We know that good things come to those who wait--so we are looking forward to an awesome 2026 opening! Here is hoping that January is Burger Month!!
