UPDATE: February 10th, 2022
First off we would like to thank all of our supporters, vendors, customers and anyone who has donated, whether it was items or your precious time. Without you this adventure would never have even gotten started. We love you immensely.
We wanted to thank AlleyCATS Alliance for letting us collect for them, even if it was for such a short time!
We are still at a point where we aren't able to go ahead with our plan as proposed. We have had such a challenging ride with covid restrictions and the opposition that unfortunately comes with all of that. Our fundraising was dramatically affected by the Rollercoaster Ride of Restrictions, as well as a series of unfortunate events that led to us not being able to hold any of the fundraising events necessary to fundraise for our Community Contribution Company, and still meet the deadline for the offer to lease we had with our amazing landlords.
That being said, another unfortunate event is that one of our key directors has had to unexpectedly and very sadly leave the Okanagan, which has affected our ability to carry on as planned as well. We ask that her privacy be respected as this was an extremely difficult decision.
With all of this happening, two more unfortunate events that took place, along with bad timing, triggered some ptsd symptoms, and one of our other directors, has been struggling with some anxiety and depression, and is working hard to get back on track. Cat therapy being one of the key components to this directors healing, prayer being the other, she is feeling more and more grateful everyday.
As we mentioned, it isn't just one or two things, there was literally a vast series of unfortunate events..we aren't willing to quit, we just can't go forward in the way we were hoping.
So, that being said, we will be back to doing online raffles and auctions in the next week or two to help raise funds and keep adding it to the jar and hopefully, one day, in future, we can come together as a community and make this Community Contribution Company happen.
We would also like to add that we have had nothing but a positive relationship with the village and they have been as helpful as possible every step of the way, and we send so much love and healing prayers to all involved.
If you have ideas, or would like to invest your time, skills, thoughts or financially in our dream, please message us! We need your help.
