Summer is here😊

Today, my team plated well over 500 meals. One of these fellas started at 9:00, and the other two at 10:00. Two of my servers also started at 10:00. It’s after 9:00 now, and they are all just about to begin cleanup. Every single one of my staff members worked hard to get the job done. On Saturdays, we always run short, as it is hard to staff weekends. Saturdays are always a grind.

I do not expect customers to sympathize or care what lengths my team goes through to get the job done, but I do hope that people can at least be reasonable when they walk into a packed restaurant.

Yes, we take reservations. Not many restaurants do. There are so many reasons not to, but we do because we know our customers like the option. We do our best to have your table ready, but unfortunately, sometimes there can still be a wait. We cannot afford to hold a table for an hour just to make sure it’s ready when you get there. Sometimes timing is off and there is a small wait.

We do take requests for certain sections and specific tables, but again, sometimes—though rarely—we cannot guarantee that specific spot.

During the summer, we don’t guarantee what you may consider to be a “reasonable” wait for food. Believe me, we are always doing our best to keep ticket times down, but sometimes it is literally impossible. Sometimes we cannot get food out in 30 minutes or less when the restaurant is seated nonstop from 5:00 until 8:30.

We do a lot of takeout. Our takeout customers are very important to us, and we do our best to avoid halting takeout for the sake of faster service in the restaurant.

We have a very large amount of gluten free/allergy requests. Because it pulls a cook off line for safety, it can slow service and therefore add to your meals time.

We had a great day today, with so many wonderful people! One bad apple did not spoil the day for us, but reminded me to make a post to inform our customers. We are always doing our best, and appreciate your patience during the summer rush. We really love what we do.
