Meet the newest release in our Black Bag Series: Kenya Meru Gichugene AB.
Grown at 1,630 meters on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, this lot comes from smallholder farmers in Meru County, where volcanic soils and cool temperatures set the stage for something special. It’s processed through the Gichugene Coffee Factory, part of the Katheri Farmers Cooperative Society, and slowly dried on raised beds for about 28 days to keep every note clear and bright.
In the cup: ripe plum, crisp green grape, and a soft honey sweetness. Juicy, lively, and wonderfully clean.
It’s a coffee that shows exactly why we go searching the globe for beans worthy of the Red Bird label.
