Thirty-five years ago, Kelowna's most prestigious fundraising gala was born from a simple idea: hospitality is at its best when it gives back.

This November 14, the 35th Annual Innkeeper's Gala returns to Hotel Eldorado, in the year the hotel marks its 100th anniversary.

Over its history, the Gala has raised more than $1.65 million for our community.

This year's proceeds will support three organizations close to home:

→ The Centre for Food, W**e and Tourism at Okanagan College
→ KGH Foundation

Gather around the table this Thanksgiving at Hotel Eldorado. 🍂

On Sunday, October 11 and Monday, October 12, Lakeside Dining is serving a three-course Thanksgiving feast by the water.

Start with a Chestnut & Sage Velouté or an Autumn Arugula & Radicchio Salad.

Then choose between our Herb-Roasted Turkey with French onion stuffing, pomme purée, cranberry chutney and sage gravy, or a Sweet Potato & Cauliflower Curry with wild rice pilaf and spicy cashews.

Finish with a Thanksgiving Baked Alaska (pumpkin spice ice cream, maple cake, toasted meringue) or a Fresh Pumpkin Pie with spiced caramel and diplomat cream.

$84 per person. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available on request.

Wh**ky Global is coming to Kelowna, and the weekend begins at Hotel Eldorado.

A hundred years on the lake, and still got it. 🥂

In 1926, Countess Bubna-Litic dreamed up a European-style retreat on the Okanagan shoreline and somehow, through a barge move down the lake, a mysterious fire, and a handful of owners who each left their mark, that dream has never stopped welcoming guests.

Today Hotel Eldorado is one of the oldest hotels in the Okanagan, and for a lot of Kelowna families, it's practically home.

This week, the Vintage Room was filled with more than guests - it was filled with the woman who started it all.

We hosted the launch of Bubna: A Remarkable Woman, author Tony Peyton's historical fiction novel telling the story of Countess Bubna-Litic — the eccentric, wealthy Austrian countess who arrived in Kelowna before World War I and built the original Eldorado Arms Inn.

Guests gathered for a three-course, 1926-inspired luncheon — local ingredients, a hearty beef main, a glass of w**e — while Tony read passages from the book and shared the story of the remarkable woman behind these walls.

It's a rare thing to sit inside a story while someone tells it to you.

Today, Hotel Eldorado got to do exactly that.
