Before Hotel Eldorado became one of the Okanagan's most iconic properties, it was the Eldorado Arms Inn.

The hotel was built by Countess Bubna, an eccentric Austrian noblewoman who emigrated to Canada before World War I.

On Sept. 23 and 24, author Tony Peyton will host a pair of luncheon's, where he will read and sign his historical fiction novel Bubna: A Remarkable Woman, recounting her eccentric story.

The afternoon is set against a three-course, 1926-inspired luncheon featuring local, seasonal ingredients and a hearty beef main course, paired with a glass of red, white, or rosé wine from Hotel Eldorado's cellar.

This year, the Hotel Eldorado turns 100.

To mark the occasion, our kitchen created something worthy of the milestone: the 100-Day Aged Butcher's Cut, aged to perfection over one hundred days.

We begin with wet aging, which gently tenderizes the beef and locks in its natural moisture, coaxing out a buttery, melt-away texture. Then comes the dry aging — the slow, deliberate art of time.

Over weeks in carefully controlled air, the flavour concentrates and deepens, developing that unmistakable nutty richness prized by those who know great steak.

It is more than a dish. It is a celebration a century in the making.

UPDATE: Our Elevated Club: Captain's Party set for this Saturday has been postponed.

Due to the weather forecast calling for high winds and potential thunderstorms, we have made the decision to move the Captain's Party to Friday, September 4.

Truly the Celebration of the Century.

Thank you to the hundreds who made the sold-out Grand Ball a night to remember.

The party to mark the hotel's 100th anniversary unfolded in epic fashion, with exquisite style, and undeniable class.

Some early wind tried to steal the show, but Hotel Eldorado has weathered a century of storms with grace, dignity, and a certain joie de vivre — and this one was no exception.
