Here is a health elixir that our family has been drinking everyday - beets, ginger, turmeric, cilantro and mint from our garden. Put in a blender and strain to drink - you don't need measurements, just blend and strain through a thin cloth. It's kept us healthy and strong, fighting off viruses and germs.
Indian food isn't just delicious, it's also medicine. Our food nourishes us - so much of the superfood trends recently is the world discovering what Indians have always known. Food is health, energy and love.

During Wimbledon, approximately 55,000 tennis balls are used, and these are creatively upcycled into tiny homes for harvest mice, a small native UK rodent.

After the tournament, the used tennis balls, made of rubber and felt, are collected and transformed into cozy shelters by organizations like the British Wildlife Centre.

The balls are hollowed out or modified to create safe, insulated nesting spaces for the mice, providing protection from predators and harsh weather.

This innovative initiative not only reduces waste but also supports conservation efforts for harvest mice, whose populations are declining due to habitat loss.

Thalipeeth is a nourishing all-in-one meal, often served with morning but sliced onion. It contained a variety of flours, many of them gluten free, and with fresh methi leaves, spring onion and spinach, it makes for a nutrition packed meal.

With our kitchen experiments, we decided to elevate the humble millets by adding it to a staple in our home - idlis. Millets have been used in India for centuries and they are filled with micronutrients. For this recipe, we used kodo millet to replace rice in the idli batter. They were easier to grind and took less time than the traditional idli recipe. Except the colour, these idlis were similar in taste to the other idlis and they satiated our hunger faster.
Served here with milaga podi and coconut chutney, these were definitely a hit!
