Look what rolled into The Clucking Hen today! 🚗🇫🇷☕🐔

A whole convoy of beautiful classic Citroëns from Toronto pulled in for coffee, snacks and a little break along the way, and suddenly our parking lot looked like its own little French car show.

This is one of the things we love most about being on the Cabot Trail. You never know who’s going to stop in, where they’ve travelled from, or what kind of wheels are going to show up outside.

Whether you’re touring the Trail, road-tripping across Cape Breton, out for a Sunday drive, or simply looking for a great place to stop, The Clucking Hen is here for good coffee, homemade baking, hearty food and a warm welcome.

A couple more beauties just hit the pie case! 🥧✨

A big thank you to Merrill & Minerva for the beautiful fresh blackberries! I put a slice aside for you. 🖤 We turned those gorgeous berries into a Blackberry Custard Pie, topped with whipped cream and fresh blackberries.

And because the first one didn’t last long… another Coconut Cream Pie is in the case! 🥥

A loaded brekkie skillet with scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, cheddar, green onions and baby potatoes, drizzled with our Southwest sauce and served with your choice of bacon or sausage.

🌧️ A little update from The Clucking Hen this morning!

There are three of us here today, so we’re keeping things simple.

Our kitchen will be CLOSED today, but Becky was in bright and early and has already put together a beautiful fresh bake, so we have lots of fresh baked goods ready to go. ❤️

I’ll also be making up some fresh grab-and-go sandwiches that you can take with you or sit down and enjoy here.

And the coffee and tea are hot, the espresso machine is on, and the cappuccinos are flowing. ☕️

We will be closing earlier than usual today, so if you’re already out and about and want somewhere warm and dry to stop, come in, grab a coffee and something to eat, and take a break from the weather. We’d love to see you.

Please drive carefully out there today and stay safe. ❤️

We’re OPEN today at The Clucking Hen. ❤️🌧️

It’s still pretty rough out there, so please be careful if you’re travelling and don’t take any unnecessary chances on the roads.

We’re operating with minimal staff today, and our kitchen will be closed, but we’ll have lots of takeout sandwiches, fresh bakery items, snacks, cold drinks, hot coffee, tea and other hot drinks available.

Most importantly, if you’re already out on the road and need somewhere warm and dry to stop, grab a bite, have a hot coffee, or simply take a little break from the weather, our doors are open.

We’re going to stay open today as a safe, dry place for anyone who needs us, as long as conditions allow.

Please drive carefully, take your time, and stay safe out there today.
