👀 HAVE YOU EVER STOPPED TO LOOK AT THIS?

Just outside Port Hardy sits one of the North Island’s most unique landmarks — a retired wind turbine blade from the Cape Scott Wind Project.

Standing an impressive 49 metres (161 feet) long, this giant blade serves as a reminder of the renewable energy project that helps power communities across the North Island.

Did you know?

🌬️ The Cape Scott Wind Project is located approximately 60 km west of Port Hardy.
⚡ The project generates enough electricity to supply the annual needs of Port Hardy, Port McNeill, and Port Alice.
👷 During construction, more than 250 workers helped bring the project to life.
📍 This display is located right as you enter Port Hardy and is a great place to stop, stretch your legs, and learn a little local history.
