❤️ Closed for the Season ❤️ (please share?)

And just like that, Open On A Nice Day Café is closed for another season.

Opening those doors this year wasn’t easy without Terry, but somewhere along the way, with every familiar face, every new face, every laugh and every conversation, I started finding myself again.

What you all gave me this season went far beyond supporting our little café. You did my heart good. ❤️

And to everyone who made it through the season and made a special effort to get here during our last few days before closing — that meant more to me than I can ever put into words. The love and support you showed was beyond anything I expected.

People may come through our doors as customers, but so many leave as friends. That has always been the heart of Open On A Nice Day Café, and I think Terry would be pretty proud of what happened here this summer.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting us. And thank you for one of the most special seasons we’ve ever had.

If all goes well, I’ll open those doors again next May and welcome you all back. ❤️

Until then… thank you for doing my heart so much good.

Our last day for the season at Open On A Nice Day Café will be September 7th. Opening again May of 2027.

Opening the café this year without my love, Terry, beside me was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But I truly believe he gave me the strength to open those doors.

And when the doors opened, I found myself again. ❤️

You all showed up — familiar faces, new faces, from all over Newfoundland, across Canada and around the world. So many people who walk through our doors as customers somehow leave as friends. That has always been the beautiful part of this little café.

Because of you, we had our best season ever. Thank you for supporting our little café,

I know Terry has been watching over the little place we started together, and I know his heart is full.

It is a little late (Aug 20th) but I wanted to send out a belated happy 50th wedding anniversary to this beautiful couple, Ross and Ruby Vardy I am so honored that you chose to spend a part of that precious day at Open On A Nice Day Cafe. ❤️

The day after celebrating her incredible 90th birthday, Madeline King chose to spend part of her day with us at Open On A Nice Day Café, giving us the chance to celebrate her all over again. ❤️

What started as customers has grown into something so much more. Madeline and her wonderful group of gal pals have become dear friends, and I feel truly blessed to know them.

Happy 90th Birthday, Madeline! Thank you for letting us be a small part of such a special milestone. Wishing you many more years filled with good health, laughter, friendship, and love. 🥂💕
