I repurposed the Market 893 sign.

One of our goals was to become a ´destination ´. We were thrilled to have people travel to our location from an hour away or more just to come for a meal! Or customers from several hours away who would make sure to stop in whenever they were close.

With closing down I am worried that people will travel here without knowing we have closed. If you know of customers that have enjoyed coming to Market 893 but don’t necessarily have social media please mention to them that we have closed. Thank you very much and all the best in 2026!

I was planning to post this a week ago but I didn’t realize how hard it would be. I/We have really enjoyed the friendships that have been made, the conversations, the neighbours and the coffee drinking. I’m planning to put out a recipe book with all the recipes we’ve used so stay tuned and thanks again!

I’ve been putting this post off for a long time. With 4 children, the welding shop, and a small cow herd, I don’t have the time to keep everything going smoothly. Market 893 was a dream of mine. Fall is here and Ice Cream season has officially ended at Market 893. Thanks for your support! Regular cones and kids cones sold similar to last year but we sold 20% more bowls of ice cream. 😊

I had these ideas in my head in 2020. With my limited knowledge of the computer I drew up these concepts of a small store/restaurant. We opened 4 years ago! I think the actual store looks better than the concept, but you be the judge. 🙂

HELP WANTED:
Cook/Waitress

Do you enjoy food and people? Always wished you could bake endless cinnamon rolls? Do you like serving cold ice cream on hot summer days? Market 893 is in need of an employee. Job duties are:

Scheduling shifts.
Doing grocery orders.
Cleaning the store.
Washing dishes.
Serving customers.
Baking and cooking.
Running till.

Requirements:
18 years of age or older.
Willing to take first aid course.
Willing to take food safety course.
Ability to run till.
Punctual.
Have reliable transportation.

Experience with serving, baking and cooking an asset but not required.

Cook Shifts are 6:45 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesdays through to Saturdays. And on Fridays from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Waitress shifts are 11 am to 7 pm on Fridays and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturdays and weekdays.

Approximately 20 hours per week.
