Job Description: Kitchen Manager/Head Chef

Established in 2016, McGillicafey’s Pub & Eatery has a vision of innovation in the restaurant industry. We pride ourselves on our broad menu selection, dedication to quality, unique offerings, and the roots in our community.
Our General Manager leads our management team including both Kitchen Manager & Head Chef as well as our Front of House Manager. As part of our management team you will be expected to work closely with all members and maintain clear communication.
Your roles & responsibilities in your position will include:
- Operational management of the kitchen including routine upkeep of the kitchen and food & product ordering
- Proper cleanliness & upkeep in the kitchen and storage areas (including fridges & freezers) and delegating these tasks as needed
- Leading kitchen staff to maintain clarity, organization and understand between all.
- Training kitchen staff & adhering to McGillicafey’s Pub & Eatery’s standards of continual training and staff development
- Ensuring kitchen staff are kept up to date and are aware of changes
- Scheduling kitchen staff and ensuring that staffing levels are on par with sales volume levels
- Recipe & menu development and ex*****on – this includes special menus & local sourcing
- Ensuring recipes and food preparations are followed to a consistent standard
- Being knowledgeable on food safety & handling and ensure this is consistently carried out
- Monitor and control product cost without compromising standards and making decisions on changes with consultation and direction from the General Manager
- Operating kitchen equipment safely and notifying the proper chain of command when equipment is failing or not working adequately
Qualifications:
- Applicant must have experience managing and leading a kitchen team
- Experience ordering and maintaining adequate stock from suppliers
- Safe Food Handler’s Certificate is required
Salary/Wage:
The qualified successful applicant will enter at an annual salary of $50,000.
You will be a full-time salaried employee at McGillicafey’s Pub & Eatery and will be part of a growing and expanding company in Trent Hills.
