Today, as we officially celebrate 25 years of My Thai, we look back at a journey rooted in a fierce yearning for freedom, independence, and the courage to control our own destiny.

Our story began long before the doors opened on John Street. It started with a transition from Thai refugee camps to the downtown core of Hamilton, driven by a determination to build a secure future against all odds. When everything was on the line, our founding family knocked on doors tirelessly for months, put every single penny of life savings into renovations, and took a risk on a dream when no one else in the area was doing it.

Through global recessions, a pandemic, and the heartbreaking loss of foundational team members who helped build our soul, the spirit of My Thai never broke. Every trial was met with an unbreakable willpower to show the city we love what we were made of.

Today isn't just a business anniversary; it’s a celebration of survival, culture, and a community that worth everything to us. Thank you for walking this extraordinary path with us for a quarter-century. 🧡
