Today we celebrate working people — all of us.

To every union member, every worker, every trade, every workplace and every family that gets up every day and helps build, care for and keep Hamilton moving — this day belongs to you.

Hamilton was built by working people.
And working people are still its strength.

To every union that fights for a better life for its members and every worker who stands up for fairness and dignity:

Thank you. Stay strong. Stay united.

If you are a business or know of any businesses who offer Steelworkers a discount please let us know. This goes for any local business supporting striking workers in our area.

We'd like to make a directory so that our members can support those who support us.

What a great way to finish what has been a very busy week for so many volunteers helping us out with Operation Backpack. Today St. Matthew's House handed out 500 backpacks to the community while Excel in Style provided haircuts to many of the kids.

We were also able to give some of the backpacks to striking workers at Steel Car and Salit Steel.

Great work everyone!

Operation Backpack got a huge endorsement from the Mayor today as St. Matthew's House handed out backpacks to the community. Another great year.

Yesterday, our Council, along with sponsors and community volunteers packed and delivered 1500 backpacks filled with and all the supplies the students will need. Friday another 500 will be given to children from the community through St. Matthews House. Many of the kids will also receive a free haircut.
