Many of you have been asking about the man of the hour- Chef Roberto Silvestri 👨🏻‍🍳

The restaurant is owned and solely run by 85 year-old Chef Roberto, otherwise known as the “Olive King”. Since 1977, Chef Roberto had a passion to bring the taste of Italy to Canada. He’s been serving homemade authentic Italian food for over 40 years. His recipes hail from Ascoli Piceno, Italy…Chef Roberto’s hometown. Everything is made in-house and served fresh to order! Thank you Steeltown Chowdown!

How does one go about describing Sam Remo on King Street in Stoney Creek? Does hidden gem do it Justice? Adventure into a time capsule sound right? I’m not really sure but bring cash and be excited for what greets you when you enter through the back door of this little joint for your $6 Veal Parm (or chicken parm) sandwich. I felt like I entered a museum world where every direction I looked there was more history to be discovered beneath a layer of question marks hosted by a genuinely passionate lifetime chef. I still have many questions, most importantly when am I going back? and why haven’t I been here before? Also, they have a dining room?! Whaaaahhht?? .remo.rustico is everything I want it to be and most importantly well priced, fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to go back for a tour of the dining room and to explore the menu further. Who has had the legendary lasagna? -Todd
