B-Side Social is a casual Southern-inspired restaurant and bar in Hamilton’s Corktown, serving comfort food, house-smoked BBQ, seafood boils and cocktails, with live music every Friday and Saturday. B-Side Social is a Southern-inspired casual restaurant and bar in the heart of Hamilton’s Corktown, set inside a restored 1895 Victorian home. The building has plenty of history, but the experience is easygoing - a place that works just as well for a quick bite or dinner with friends as it does for a full night out. Alongside those everyday favourites are the things B-Side has become known for, including house-smoked brisket, ribs and pulled pork, the Pitmaster Board and our signature seafood boils. Pair it all with handcrafted cocktails, draught beer, wine or a zero-proof option. Come early for dinner or Happy Hour, stay late for live music every Friday and Saturday, or bring the group for a celebration. Oysters and Prosecco work together for the same reason people squeeze lemon over oysters: acidity wakes everything up 🦪🥂 Oysters are naturally salty and briny, and a dry sparkling wine helps brighten that clean ocean flavour without covering it.

Oysters and Guinness have been hanging out together a lot longer than Oysterfest.

The pairing goes back to the 18th and 19th centuries in Ireland and the UK, when oysters were an affordable staple around ports and harbour towns, and dark beers like stouts and porters were being poured in the same taverns. Oyster houses served fresh oysters with pints of stout because it was simple, filling, and it worked.

Guinness helped make the pairing even more iconic in the 1950s with its own oyster advertising, including a guide to different oyster varieties and the idea that oysters taste their best with a draft of Guinness.
