As I head in to the final weekend of this little restaurant that gave me so much, I do so with gratitude.
To be honest, it would be easy to write a long diatribe about Dartmouth Crossing and circumstances that brought me here, but instead, I want this final message to be about the people who actually made La Cucina what it was.
Thank you to every customer who walked through our doors, supported us, celebrated with us, recommended us to friends, and made this little restaurant part of your lives.
Thank you to every staff member, past and present, who poured your heart into this place and helped make my dream come true. Especially those who stayed with me to end. Your commitment during such an uncertain time meant more than I can properly express.
Thank you to my family for standing beside me through every high and low over the years. And to my boys, who practically grew up in the restaurant, and helped keep it running along the way.
After 21 years, 6 in Truro and 15 in Dartmouth, this is not how I planned for La Cucina to end, and leaving this way was never the goal. Unfortunately, it’s not a choice I was given.
For now, I have no plans to reopen La Cucina elsewhere. But if I ever do find a new location and begin again, this page is where I’ll share it first.
Thank you for everything, Dartmouth. I will miss you more than you know.
