Teapothecary - Historical and Literary Teas

Teapothecary - Historical and Literary Teas Welcome to The Teapothecary, where you can sip tea with Queen Victoria at noon or share a cup with Professor Moriarty by evening.

Explore our Sense and SensibiliTea line for a taste of history, or dive into NovelTeas, where every sip tells a story. Time Travel in a Cup - Drink a Bit of History. Sense and SensibiliTea started from humble and dirty roots. It began in a make shift 18th century tea parlor. Having hosted many fully costumed period teas I decided to take the next step, and begin research to make sure the teas I wa

s serving were accurate to the various periods we were playing in. It began with two simple blends, as a re-enactor I had decided to further the experience for people that came to visit me at museums by representing a tea merchant, a job that women in the 18th century were able to hold. Over time it went from small reenacting hobby to something much more and ever expanding. My aim is to recreate as closely from research and description tea blends from various historical time periods. To essentially offer you a small but of time travel in your cup. We want everyone to not only enjoy an excellent cup of tea, but to also learn a little bit of history in the process. We are also creating tea blends based on great pieces of literature. Being artistic my husband and I also offer hand painted and decoupaged specialty tea wares. If your'e tired of tea, then your'e tired of life - Professor Elemental

So I know this will probably never reach the person or people doing it, but I also hate feeling that I have done nothing. So I love planting flowers and watching them bloom in these flower boxes, but someone has been taking plants out of them. At first I thought all my red flowers must be dying as I noticed I saw less and less red, but when I went to dead head and w**d yesterday I was also going to remove the dead flowers and see what space I had for replacement. But when I went to remove them, I realized it is not that the red flowers were dying off, they were simply missing, there were gaps with holes in the planters! WTH! The only red flowers left a couple of impatiens and one red petunia. I think the only reason they survived the purge was because they were not flowering at the time the others were taken. I do have cameras, and I can go back and look through the footage, it I don’t want to have to do that. So instead, please stop taking my plants! All my red begonias, most of my red impatiens, and all but 1 red petunia are gone. I put them here to bring joy to everyone.

Meet Timothy! He was but a temporary worker here at the Teapothecary. I found him on the floor when I arrived this morning. He was on his side and visibly in distress by the front door, obviously trapped in the shop overnight. I took him behind the counter and put him in a box to rest. I looked him over without touching, his wings and body looked okay. So I plucked some flowers from the flower boxes. I gave him one as is, and I soaked one in a sugar water syrup I quickly made up. He was dehydrated and exhausted barely able to@move at first, but I placed her near the flower with the sugar water and he almost immediately began drinking with his cute long tongue. After rest and lots of sugar water he began grooming which was a great sign. A checked on him in the box ever 5 to 10 mins, not disturbing, just observing. Eventually he was moving around quite a bit and after a bit more time started buzzing his wings. I brought the box outside, when I saw that and as I was placing it into a shaded flower boxes, he rose up, he hovered about eye level with me 6 inches from my face, I said go on if you can, he circled my head and then rose up higher and flew across to street and out of his job here at the shop. I hope he gets back home safe and well. He was a beautiful animal and deserved to be cared for in a moment of need. I hope I always remember this, no matter what, that everyone and every living being deserves care in a time of need.
