So with a heavy heart I wanted to let everyone know we will Not be reopening the Ice Cream shop next summer, as the Department of Transportation and HRM has decided to enforce a rule (that we never heard of before) with us. They want our shop 63 feet back from the center line of the highway, which would put the shop in our livingroom. With all our research and talking to different departments of planning and zoning prior to opening this shop no one ever said this was a rule. So for some reason after being open for two years and giving the Prospect Road Community, Promoting Local Tourisum to this area and hiring 3 local people we have to close. The NS governement is always saying that they want to help small business's but I guess not in this situation as we can't even find anyone willing to work with us without them being so ignorant and high and mighty its almost like they are getting some enjoyment out of feeling superior. Its very heartbreaking, all the work we put into this and many people in the community and tourists enjoyed our little shop. Thank you for all your support over the past two summers. :(
