Mary's African Cuisine A delicious mix of cuisine from all parts of Africa! The most authentic African food experience in town!

Mary comes from a long line of women who made their living preparing and selling food. Her grandmother was a kenkey seller in their home village of Apam, on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. Her mother was a baker who saw their family through coup d’etats and crises with non-stop hard work. Mary started her business as a rice seller in Achimota, at a little wooden stand, when she was just a teena

ger. She now has over 30 years of experience in the culinary industry, and is the proprietress of Mary’s African Cuisine (a full service African Restaurant in Downtown Halifax), Kicks Café (a soccer themed café in the BMO Soccer Centre in Halifax), and a catering division that serves weddings, festivals, and large events with food, drinks and specialty cakes.
