Our recurring art installation is back in front of the diner for an exhibition of unknown duration.

Fear not, we are still open regular hours with passable sidewalks (for now).

There was some debate this morning about the trees that are set to be planted and a possible misalignment of the new sidewalk placement (in relation to the structures underneath that will support the trees).

While overhearing the heated debate between the construction staff and the potential impact(s) to our operation was distressing, thankfully, no one thought to consult the local business affected. So, a full scale anxiety attack was able to spiral into what my Fitbit deemed “zone minutes” because of my elevated heart rate while doing no physical activity at all. So exercise bonus activated I guess. Life hack?

In the meantime, we can all admire the artists work which is currently untitled.

My suggested titles to the artist’s work are as follows:

“More mistakes leading to more waste”
“Wasted money, time, and labour”
“If my business ran this way, we would be out of business”
“Project Mismanagement”
“Communication breakdowns lead to morning meltdowns”
“Defeated and broken but trying to rebuild (yet again)”

Feel free to leave your own art title suggestions in the comments if you are also trying to be clever and find humor in a stressful situation.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all of the Mother Figures out there in all your wonderful and diverse roles you play in your family.

A few items to note for Sunday:

❤️We are open regular hours 10am - 4pm

❤️We will not be able to offer delivery for Sunday only.

❤️Wait times for take out and seating may be longer than usual.

❤️We are walk in only (no reservations).

❤️We will do our best, however, we may not be able to accommodate larger parties and combining multiple tables.

Thanks so much for understanding. We are excited to welcome you all in this weekend.

Tomorrow is also Chef Lalanya’s birthday and we have three moms on staff who want to bring you an enjoyable brunch.

All we ask in return is that you let us know how we can make your experience a wonderful one. We welcome feedback and want you to be full and happy when you leave.

I would consider it a personal gift to avoid negative online reviews where we have no chance to make it right for you after the fact.

Well the curse of our line fridge strikes again.

Despite having people in to check on things while we tried to eke out 2 days of R&R, we came in this morning to a warm fridge.

So, your friendly neighbourhood diner will be prepping furiously to try and not lose the entire day.

Heads up to our lovely customers.

Please do NOT park in the plaza/mini mall parking lot on Titus and Alma (with the Subway) if you are coming to visit us.

They have new rules and a new parking enforcement provider as of 4 days ago. You will have your car booted with a $131 fine to have it removed. There is very small hard to read signage on one side of the building that is not very visible.

Please use street parking where you can on Dutch Village Road, Deal Street, Percy Street, other side streets or other marked spaces as permitted.

Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Giving you all a week’s notice that the diner will be closed Wednesday, April 15th for 1 day only.

Fret not, because it is for the best of reasons. We are taking a long weekend to get some overdue rest and get out of the city for 3 days.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but the batteries are out of juice and need a recharge.

We can’t wait to share with you all of the adventures we have on our brief time away. We are so excited and will come back ready to feed all you fine folks again for the Thursday-Sunday stretch.

We have some traditions here at the diner.

On holidays we all chip in $5 and guess the number of certain menu items sold that day. Good Friday, of course, means fish fillets.

It makes working holidays more fun and silly.

I let everyone know what we sold the year before (and I match the pot to make it interesting).

Our staff know our customers pretty well and this year’s winner has a knack for accurate guesses.

Brian takes home the cash this year! Pictured in the second slide with our classic kitchen deli 1L container that works as a cash holder, pen holder, drinking glass, oh, and food storage I guess 😜

A huge thank you to everyone that dined with us yesterday, whether in house or for take out. We also did a surprising around of brunch on top of that so we are feeling the love.

Good Friday is April 3rd.

We will be open regular hours 11am - 8pm with a few modifications from our usual operations since this is traditionally one of our busiest days of the entire year.

Here are the details:
- We will accept pre-orders for fish and chips via our online ordering platform ONLY. See easystreetdiner.ca or the ordering link in our bio

- We are not able to accept pre-orders via phone.

- Pre-ordering online is available Wednesday April 1st at 11am until Thursday April 2nd at 8pm.

- April 3rd will be first come first serve for in house and take out.

- On April 3rd no scheduled orders will be available, however, you can call in to place orders.

- Pick-up timing will be dependent upon the volume and will change throughout the day. We will do our best to give you an accurate estimate, however, wait times will be longer than our usual.

- We are unable to accommodate scheduled orders on Friday April 3rd.

- We are not taking reservations on Friday April 3rd.

- At this time we plan to to still have our delivery service available, however, that is also subject to volume and may change as the day progresses.

The best way to get the timing you are hoping for, is to order in advance, online, during the pre-ordering window.

We appreciate your understanding.

We are a small team of only 9 (2 owners included) so please know these measures are to ensure you get the best quality fish and chips within our capacity. We only cook to order and our fish, fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce are all made fresh in house.
