I love this time of year, when the weather is warming up and everything is green and starting to bloom 🌱🌷

This is the time of year that I am most motivated to get outside, move my body, and fill it with fresh vegetables! It is also the time of year when I lose interest in spending beautiful sunny days meal prepping…

Luckily, Urban Jars Halifax can help with that! Place your UJH order before 10am on Tuesday mornings for delivery that Friday! Then take the time you would have spent meal prepping and instead go for a walk, read a book, spend time with loved ones, whatever fills your cup.

I love to pair my mid-morning coffee with a chocolate hazelnut protein bite ☕️

Whether you are like me, and have just put your baby down for a nap (and are crossing your fingers for at least 30 min), or you are in between meetings, rushing out on errands, or the other myriad of things we all have on our plates, our protein bites give you the boost you need!

I use my protein bite snack as a time to remind myself to slow down and take a few minutes just for me. Pro tip - check your teeth for chia seeds after eating… 🫣

New menu 🚨 we are so excited to bring back some personal favs (banana hazelnut parfait, turmeric ginger & lentil jar), new recipes (no bake cookie ono, inspired by one of our favourite baked goods from our childhood), and of course keeping on some best sellers (caprese, butter cauliflower)!!

Personally, I can’t wait to build my own skillet jar with the red curry sauce 🤗

Five years ago, on April 27th 2021, Karly and I accepted orders for the first time ever! These orders came from family and friends (people who have continued to support us over the last five years), but pretty soon, we had friends of friends and then people we couldn’t trace back to us placing orders. Then these ‘strangers’ became familiar names and faces, as they continued to support us week after week (fun fact: the very first ‘stranger’ who ordered from us still orders from us today!)

We are so proud of the community we have grown, both within our kitchen and outside of it! And none of it would be possible without all of you. We have talked for some time about wanting to be able to show appreciation to everyone who orders from us, but especially those of you who shop with us so consistently, and now we are thrilled to launch, beginning May 1st, our new loyalty program - **Reuse & Reward**!

Did you see our new menu we launched this week?? Don’t worry, we kept on some of the recent favourites like Dubai Chocolate parfaits and overnight oats, brought back some classics (kale caesar, we’ve missed you!), and have a few new recipes for you to try (I’m looking at you, Shish*to Citrus 👀).

We got excellent feedback on the chocolate orange parfait from our taste tester (aka our sister-in-law) and I might have demanded we bring back my personal favourite… the butter cauliflower jar 🤤

We hope you love this new menu as much as we do!

Urban Jars Halifax, owned and operated by two women, is proud to be an inclusive space. While we skew heavily female (in both our team and our clientele!), we have welcomed two men into our little kitchen, and will always ensure it is a gender inclusive space.

On International Women’s Day, we want to recognize that women-led spaces are highly collaborative and have higher retention rates than more traditional leadership structures. We see that every single week in the commitment shown by our Energy Exchangers and customers, many of whom have been with us for years. We also see it in the way our EEs bring their ideas and thoughts to the kitchen and share them openly and readily.

Leading this small team and participating in creating a safe and collaborative space is the honour of our lives.

We have a new menu to share with you all and we are verrrry excited about it!! We have lots of new items and some classics.

Be sure to try our new Biscoff cookie parfait and the Dubai chocolate (also available in overnight oats). We also have some new lunch salads we can’t wait for you to try (mango Thai chop salad and the loaded taco bowl 👀). And… it’s that time of year - mini egg protein bites are BACK!!! 🐣
