THAT’S A WRAP!

And just like that… our 2026 summer season has officially come to an end, and The Village Bakery & Deli is heading into hibernation mode. 🐻❄️

What a summer it has been! Busy, exciting, occasionally a little chaotic, and filled with SO many wonderful people. From early morning coffees and freshly baked treats to homemade dinners, live music, road trippers, locals, familiar faces, new friends, and everything in between… thank you for making this summer one to remember.

🫶 AND TO OUR AMAZING 2026 CREW… THANK YOU!

To everyone who made it all the way to the very end, we see you, we appreciate you, and we are incredibly grateful for you. You worked hard, learned lots of new things, rolled with the punches, and kept showing up through all the busy, sometimes (mostly) chaotic days.

We know it is not always easy, and we recognize just how much you put into making this place run. Because the truth is… the Bakery is what YOU make it to be. We could not do it without you.

One of the things that has made us especially proud this summer is hearing the kind words from our customers and reading them in their reviews. Time and time again, people have taken the time to mention how much they enjoyed their interactions with our team. Those little moments of kindness and connection may feel small at the time, but they make lasting impressions. We are so proud and excited to see where everyone’s next adventures lead.

As for us, it’s time to slow down, put our feet up, spend some quality time with family, and maybe start dreaming up a few new treats for next summer.

We will miss you for now, but look forward to seeing everyone again when the ovens fire back up!🔥

🥹 CLOSING DAY IS ONLY ONE DAY AWAY!

Where did the season go?! It feels like we just opened our doors, and somehow we’re already down to our final two days!

We’ll be open 7am–5pm today and tomorrow, September 15th, and as we work our way through our remaining supplies, the staff is getting a little creative in the kitchen! 👩‍🍳✨

Today’s sweet lineup includes:
Our regular cinnamon rolls & sticky buns
Strawberry rhubarb buns
Maraschino cherry scones
Vegan haskap lavender cookies

And who knows what else might pop up!

We’d love to see you one last time before we close for the season. Come grab a cup of coffee, stock up on your favorites, wish our staff well as they head off on their next adventures, and see what surprises we have waiting for you!

🛒 P.S. We’re also selling off some of our remaining supplies that we know won’t get used, so don’t be surprised if you spot some random grocery items for sale around the bakery! You never quite know what you’ll find during the end-of-season cleanout.

🎉 SUNDAY FUNDAY HAS ARRIVED! 🎉

Today is Community Appreciation Day, and we’re celebrating YOU with FREE FOOD, LIVE MUSIC, and one last big afternoon of summer fun! 💛

We’re incredibly grateful for the wonderful people who have filled our days with kind smiles, warm welcomes, and friendships that have lasted far beyond the bakery counter. We might be a little biased, but we truly think Haines Junction has the best customers around.

We’ll be handing out FREE pulled pork sandwiches starting at 12pm, while supplies last! We’ve cooked up around 200, so come hungry and hopefully we’ll have enough to keep everyone fed.

It’s time to party! 🎉

We’ve got a few quick updates to share about this weekend’s festivities, and we’re pretty excited about this one!

Our Community Appreciation Day has officially moved to Sunday instead of Saturday, and we are making it twice as fun by bringing in not one, but TWO bands! 🎶🎶

>>The fun kicks off this Sunday at 12pm
With music by Pass the Spuds, featuring Jerome McIntyre and the bakery legend himself, Boyd Campbell! They’ll be playing until 2pm while we hand out FREE pulled pork sandwiches to our wonderful community.

We’re cooking up around 200 sandwiches, so we’re hoping there will be enough for everyone throughout the afternoon. Sandwiches will be complimentary while supplies last.

We will have a quick band change before Dutch Handsome and the Ransoms take the stage to close out the afternoon until 4pm.

It’s going to be a magical afternoon, and we can’t wait to celebrate the end of another summer with the community that makes this little place so special.

And because our employees deserve a little celebrating too… We’ll be closing early this Friday at 3pm so our whole crew can head out together for a well-earned night off, where, for once, we don’t have to do our own cooking! 😂

Thank you all (employees and patrons alike) for making another summer in the Junction so special. We can’t wait to jam out with everyone one last time!

Howdy folks! 🤠

It’s been a VERY busy summer, and although we’re getting close to the end of the season, we still have a few surprises up our sleeves!

This is our final weekend of live music and themed dinner nights, and we’re thrilled to have The Hibernation and Small TALK (aka Bruce De La Cruz) closing out our summer series! 🎶

Tonight is SOLD OUT, but there’s still room for tomorrow night! Grab a spot while you still can and book online!

And that’s not all… 👀

This Sunday from 2–5pm, we’ll be hosting a very special concert featuring some AMAZING French artists: Safia Nolin, Pomme, and Anneky Musique. Wowowow! We are beyond honored to have these incredible artists grace our little town stage. 🇫🇷🎶

Finally, as the season winds down in September, we’ll be bringing back our now-annual Community Appreciation Day! 💛

We’ll release all the details soon, but we’re planning on free food, live music, and plenty of good times, just like last year. It’s our way of saying THANK YOU for all of your continued support and celebrating another wonderful summer here in the Junction.

Our last day open will be September 15th.

👋 Hi everyone! A quick little announcement…

Starting tomorrow, Monday, August 17th, we’ll be closing at 5pm daily. 🕔

As the season slowly starts to wind down, some of our employees will soon be heading home for school and other adventures. With a smaller crew, we’re adjusting our hours to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

But don’t worry, we’re not done just yet! We still have plenty of baking, music, and a few fun announcements coming your way later this week. 👀

Hi, everyone!

We are looking forward to another fantastic weekend of live music, homemade dinners, and great company at The Village Bakery & Deli.

🚨 Lineup Update 🚨

Due to a last-minute illness, Johnny Pogue and the Colleens are unfortunately no longer able to perform this evening as scheduled.

While we are disappointed by this unexpected change and wish them a speedy recovery, we are excited to share that we have secured another talented local Yukon musician to take the stage in their place.

ON DECK:
Tonight - Aug 7th - Small TALK

Bruce De La Cruz, better known as small TALK, is a former Yellowknife musician originally from Cambridge, Ontario, and now lives in the Yukon.
His big heart translates into the big energy he puts into his performances, which has become a staple that small TALK fans expect at every show.

small TALK writes what's on his mind first, and worries about the details later, making every song as authentic as possible.
He also makes sure to stay down to earth as a performer, and enjoys banter (AKA "small talk" tee-hee) with his friends and fans while he's on stage.

While he's been away from Yellowknife, he’s been steadily breaking into the vibrant music scene in the Yukon, meeting fellow musicians and hosting open-mics when he can.
As a recipient of one of the 2025 Folk on the Rock Artist in Resident Mentorships, he’s excited to return to Yellowknife to perform for the birthplace of the small TALK persona as it exists today.

Tomorrow - August 8th - Beyond Hope

The Beyond Hope Band is a collaboration of Rebecca Dunne and Fraser Canyon (StephenClarke) based on their mutual love of old time music, fiddle tunes, and classic ballads and songs with a northern flavour. Recently formed in Whitehorse, their debut gig was well received at the 98 Hotel.
