The processing of coffee before it comes to Canada is long and intensive. ☕️

The women in Cafe Femenino grow and maintain the coffee trees in the Northern Andes. 🌿
They then hand-pick every ripe coffee cherry off the tree to get ready for processing. 🍒
Once there’s enough cherries, they begin the washing and shucking stage💧
Then starts the drying phase where the coffee is set out to dry off before being bagged and shipped up to us ☀️

With every cup, you’re directly supporting these women farmers. And in turn, supporting a Canadian women’s shelter or centre of your choice. 🧡☕️

To celebrate, here’s another feminist book recommendation: “Feminism Is For Everybody: Passionate Politics” (2000) by bell hooks.

This short non-fiction book is a good one to start with when starting to read about feminism.
