L’Héron Tea Shop initially started in the year 2000 as a hobby farm growing its own herbs for crafting tisanes and natural hand and foot care products. The organically grown herbs used in all of our products greatly enhanced the quality of our products and the response from local patrons was positive. We also added a selection of high grown and single estate teas to our already
popular tisanes and extended our focus on educating those not yet familiar with herbs and premium teas. With time this small venture grew and in 2005 a retail outlet was opened in Grande Digue. At L’Héron Tea Shop, we treat the business of the tea, herbs and community experiences very seriously. We draw inspiration from history and strength from our country side location, yet we offer a personal experience when it comes to customer service. The way we see it, listening to our customers and the world around us makes us a full partner in trying to make our world a better place to live and leave a promising legacy to our children. We consistently use the freshest herbs for our personally crafted tisane blends and body care products to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. We do so by maintaining ancestral organic agricultural practices in our gardens. We also believe in social and environmental responsibility by supporting as much organic production as possible and using materials that are recyclable in efforts to preserve our natural resources. We strive to also offer as many organically grown teas from plantations using a chemical-free agriculture system and partner with others who are committed to environmental conservation. Tea plantations transitioning to organic farming may not have their official organic certification status at the time of purchase; therefore, we do not list these teas in our organic tea category until they have an official organic trade certificate. We have chosen to use classic metal tin packaging material for our teas and tisanes since it is a very good long term and multipurpose recyclable product. We also use recyclable kraft paper bags to refill tins. The tins provide air tight, moisture free storage environment to keep the products fresher and longer. We believe in life’s simple pleasures. The gifts from nature allows us to produce healthy natural hand and foot care products and tisanes. What better way to take care of our bodies while at the same time enjoying a soothing cup of tisane or tea. These are the moments that refreshes the senses and soothes the spirit.
