Unfortunately, we’ve got some staff out sick, and the smoke from the nearby fires is slowing things down a little more than usual, so we’ve decided to keep the shop closed for the day.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s understanding. ❤️

We’re hoping to be back to scooping ice cream and firing up the arcade as usual tomorrow!

☀️ Weekend Hours Update — This Week Only! ☀️

We’ll be opening at 2:00 PM instead of 10:00 AM today and tomorrow to give our hardworking staff a little extra time to enjoy the heat!

We’ll still be open until 10:00 PM both days, so there’s plenty of time to stop by for ice cream and arcade games. 🍦🕹️

This is **just for this weekend**—we’ll be back to our regular 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM weekend hours next week.

🕹️ MS. PAC-MAN IS BACK! 🕹️

After being under repair for what felt like ages, Ms. Pac-Man is finally up and running at Grand Scoops!

This arcade legend was released in 1982, making her an incredible 44 years old—and (funfact) Ms. Pac-Man is recognized as the first playable female character in video-game history!

We took our time with the restoration because we wanted to do it right. We’re still waiting for her new coin door to arrive, so until then…

MS. PAC-MAN IS FREE TO PLAY!

A few weeks ago, the 3D printer that made them was stolen during a break-in (at my office in Kelowna). After dealing with the insurance process, sourcing a replacement, and getting everything set up again, we're finally printing dragons once more (from my house this time).

🥛 Did you know?

Several of our ice cream flavors are actually lactose-free, including Chocolate, Coconut, and Strawberry!

These flavors are still made with real dairy and the same process as all our other ice cream, but the lactose (the natural milk sugar that causes issues for some people) has been broken down with the addition of an enzyme called lactase. It's the same enzyme your body normally uses to digest lactose, making these flavors easier for many lactose-intolerant customers to enjoy.

As always, if you have allergies or dietary concerns, please ask our staff before ordering, we have something for everyone.

Today we're celebrating a pretty big milestone for one of our own.

Ben is graduating high school today!

Ben has been with Grand Scoops for three seasons now, making him the longest-serving members of our team. In fact, he was only the second employee we ever hired. That means he's been here through a lot of the chaos, growing pains, last-minute changes, broken equipment, busy weekends, and all the other adventures that come with building a small business from the ground up. I trust it's built some character.

Through it all, Ben has always shown up ready to work, willing to learn, and able to take whatever nonsense we threw at him in stride. It's been a privilege to watch him grow from a high school student looking for a summer job into a dependable member of our team.

Congratulations, Ben, on your graduation. We're incredibly proud of everything you've accomplished and excited to see what comes next for you.

Also, selfishly, we're very excited to have you back soon, because now I have to run the shop myself this weekend. 😅
