Job Overview
We are seeking friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistants to join our team at a brand new shop in downtown Grand Falls-Windsor! This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong time management skills, and experience in food service or barista roles. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
Duties
Take customer orders accurately using POS systems, including Square POS
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and light food items in accordance with company standards
Handle cash transactions and perform cashiering duties with basic math skills
Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space
Assist in food preparation and serving to ensure timely service during busy periods
Manage multiple tasks efficiently through effective time management
Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers professionally and courteously
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Requirements
Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Familiarity with POS systems, especially Square POS, is a plus
Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately and efficiently
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Good math skills for cash handling and basic transactions
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if needed
