If truth could spread as quickly and widely as lies, this world would be a much better place!
When I received a call from a stranger telling me that the front desk at my restaurant was unattended, claiming to be a loyal customer of 30 years who had been waiting for a long time without any service, I was shocked. I knew there should have been someone on duty.
Afterwards, I asked the employee for an explanation, but instead of admitting any wrongdoing, she accused the customer of deliberately blaming her. I didn't want to argue with her, so I asked her to leave with dignity. She refused and requested two more weeks. I agreed, on first day of those two weeks, she came to work, preparing to open as usual. However, when she needed to open the cash register, she hesitated. She falsely claimed to have forgotten her key and refused to go home to get it, later stating that she had lost it. She wouldn't let me check the cash register, perhaps out of fear of being discovered as the dishonest one when it came to money. Eventually, the police arrived, unlocked the register, and witnessed the cash inside. Before the results were determined, she fled, which was not surprising.
Later, she posted false information online, accusing the owner of stealing tips from the kitchen staff, which was simply ludicrous! I don't even know how she found out about the kitchen staff's tips shortage.
