The Red Door is a restaurant/cafe at the back of The Fountainhead Health Store on St.Andrew Street, downtown Fergus. We are open for lunch 11:00 - 3:00, with drinks & desserts available before, throughout and after service. Locals may remember the small cafe which was located at the front of the Fountainhead Store prior to this. What used to be a very small quaint cafe has expanded to become the r

estaurant we have now. Despite these changes, the restaurant continues to maintain its desire to provide a place for everyone to enjoy a healthy meal. We are a mostly vegetarian restaurant with many vegan options. All of our baked goods are made in house and are gluten free. We also provide gluten free options for most of our menu. We provide the freshest food possible, avoiding the use of commercial products and making each meal per order.

Whether you were out enjoying Meadows music festival or just need a solid breakfast to get your day back on track, we’ve got you covered.

Today’s breakfast special is a Breakfast Pizza on Naan topped with white sauce, scrambled eggs, cheese, and your choice of bacon, ham, sausage, or peppers.

The rain may be trying its best to scare people off today, but around here we’re tough Canadians — and a little wild weather has never stopped Fergus from showing up for the things we love. 🌧️🧶🇨🇦

Today is the Fergus Fibre Festival downtown Fergus, and this beloved community event is absolutely worth bundling up for. Pull on your rain coats, grab your umbrellas, wrap yourself in some warm wool (and if you happen to need more wool… well… today seems like the perfect day to find some 🤔🧵).

The streets may be wet, but downtown is full of talented makers, beautiful fibre art, warm community spirit, and plenty to explore.

And when you need to warm back up, The Red Door Restaurant has the hot drinks pouring, good food waiting, and a cozy table saved for you. ☕🍲

Today’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese is layered with basil goat cheese, crispy bacon, spinach, tomato, caramelized onions, and cheddar on perfectly toasted bread. Rich, savoury, a little tangy, and exactly the sort of lunch a cool spring day calls for. 🍅🥓🌿

Tomorrow the streets of downtown Fergus will be full of yarn, colour, creativity, and Fibre Festival magic 🧶✨

Just a quick heads up that we will not be offering breakfast service tomorrow, Saturday May 23rd, and we are no longer accepting reservations for the day.

We’ll still have plenty of gluten free baking, lunch, drinks, and sweet treats waiting for those stopping in between festival wandering and market bags full of wool. ☕🍰

A little heads up for our regular breakfast crowd ☀️

We’ve got a few behind-the-scenes things happening this week, so there will be no weekday morning breakfast service Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

The rest of the day will continue as normal.

The dessert case is feeling especially dangerous lately. 🍓✨

This month’s feature flavours have officially arrived:

• Fudge Brownie Butter Tarts
• Butterscotch Blondies
• Cheesecakes:
Strawberry Shortcake, Peaches & Cream & Red Velvet

All of our desserts are gluten free, and vegan options can be found in the dessert case as well — we’ve got something for every sweet tooth. 🍰

Rich chocolate, buttery caramel notes, fresh fruit, velvety cheesecake layers… the sort of lineup that turns “just grabbing lunch” into “well… maybe dessert too.” ✨
