Chevy’s garlic harvest 2026 for the best jalapeño products around.

586 successful plants out of 600 planted last fall.
That’s pretty return, 97% success rate to be precise lol.

Approximately 2344 cloves, give or take a few.

Sometimes it’s not about the sale… ❤️

Over the past six years of doing markets, I’ve met people from all over the world. One of my greatest joys is watching someone try one of my samples for the very first time and seeing the surprise on their face when they discover a new favourite.

Today, though, was one of those moments I’ll never forget.

A couple stopped by my booth with her father. As we talked about my products, she translated every question and every answer into Russian for him. After a few minutes, I asked what language they were speaking.

“Russian,” she replied proudly.

Her father didn’t speak any English, but that certainly didn’t stop us from connecting.

I offered him a few samples, and he enthusiastically chose my hottest products—including my Volcanic Lava and Spicy Salsa. Watching his reaction was priceless! He loved them, even if he was searching for a little extra air between bites. 😂🌶️

As I was adding up their purchase, something happened that completely caught me off guard.

He held up his phone toward me. Using a translation app, he had taken the time to write me a message in English.

“You are very talented. Everything you sell is very beautiful and delicious.”

I was genuinely touched.

In a world where we often speak different languages, kindness doesn’t need a translation.

Before they left, we shook hands, and a thought crossed my mind…

Here was a gentleman from thousands of kilometres away, visiting our little corner of Nova Scotia, and for a few minutes we shared smiles, laughter, great food, and appreciation—even though we couldn’t speak the same language.

That’s pretty amazing when you stop and think about it.

Moments like these remind me that what I do has never been just about making a sale. It’s about meeting incredible people, sharing something I’ve poured my heart into creating, and making connections that I’ll remember long after the market is over.

Thank you to this wonderful family for making my day. My heart left the market a little fuller than when I arrived. ❤️

I took a much needed day off to rest.

Good afternoon, Jalapeño Land and the best clientele ever! ❤️🌶️

Unfortunately, I have made the difficult decision to discontinue my “Return 5 bottles and receive 1 free” promotion.

This decision comes down to two important reasons:

1️⃣ I have noticed a pattern of bottles bursting during the canning process. After doing some research, I learned that these particular bottles can lose some of their strength after being processed previously. Even a tiny hairline crack that isn’t visible can cause a bottle to fail during canning.

2️⃣ The rising costs of ingredients, supplies, utilities, and fuel have made it increasingly difficult to continue offering this promotion without taking a loss.

I sincerely apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. I truly tried my best to keep the promotion going, but unfortunately it has reached the point where it is no longer sustainable.

Thank you all so much for your continued support, understanding, and loyalty. ❤️

Heyo all

For those of you whom come to my table solely for my famous Tea Biscuits.

I would like to apologize as I will not have any available this upcoming Saturday at the Truro Farmers Market.

Delivery delays for my jalapeños which would have normally come in this past Monday, are not coming until today Wednesday.

What that means is Chevy’s production for today, tomorrow and Friday will solely be on pickling as I am running quite low on many products.

Again I apologize for this inconvenience.
