Some images from the Kitchener Blues Festival last night showing how feels like the biggest small town in Canada.
At every stage there’s great music and people you know. At the OLG stage in Victoria Park where Alice Armstrong was performing, I saw radio legend, emcee extraordinaire and community supporter Gayle O'Brien and Stephanie Brasseur, retired from the City of Kitchener but still attending more live music shows than anyone I know.
At the Europro Downtown Kitchener Stage where the Easy Street Blues Band-traditional blues-Live blues-music performed I saw long serving Blues Festival volunteer, Radio DJ and Flying Dog DJ Steve Sobczuk aka Larry Fine.
At the YNC Stage where played I saw Hockey Helps The Homeless Waterloo Region Commitee Member and huge Kitchener Rangers fan Craig Herner
On Thursday night at the Fundraising Show during a great talk with Gary Stewart he said there’s an incredible benefit to having people come together to share the communal experience of live music.
That benefit was in full effect Friday night. There’s more music to come today and Sunday. The Gospel Breakfast Sunday morning at 10 is always an incredible experience.
If you want to ride your bike downtown, there’s a free secure Bike Check at the Joseph St. entrance to Victoria Park.
