Why eat spinach? Because we use ZERO pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers. We ONLY use compost made from local inputs to feed our soil. Our produce is nutritious, flavourful and high quality.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The terms fresh, sustainable, clean, regenerative and local don't mean the food is organic. In order to be organic it needs to be free from GMO's, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and chemical fertilizers.

If the labelling or marketing associated with the food you are purchasing uses any of these terms ask if they EVER use any GMO's, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers...if the seller cannot say no to this question, you are not purchasing organic food merely something that is trying to mimic the real thing.

Though we are not 'certified' organic, our practices exceed those required to be certified. We align our growing system with Soil Association standards in the UK and the Real Organic Project label being developed. These labels and certifications are emerging to help growers of truly organic food distinguish their farms from watered down 'certified organic' businesses.

The best way to find out how your food is produced? Get informed. Talk to a farmer. Visit the farm. Learn about their soil, farm and growing system.

“First spring egg this morning as the ladies break their winter strike. We stop feeding the soya-based layer pellets when the light drops below a certain threshold in the early winter and slowly re-introduce it this time of year. It gives their body the break it naturally takes.”

Coming this year on the farm will be a regular pizza night.

It's looking like it'll be Thursdays in order to fit our harvest schedule and fuel the farm team through the weekend markets. It'll be open to CSA / pizza share members only. All pizza will be wood fired and made with fresh ground organic flours, our own tomatoes, basil, garlic and herbs. In-season produce, local seafood and various cheese options will be available for extra toppings.

Pizza shares will be included with this years CSA memberships. Cost for CSA members (on pizza night) will be $10 / individual-sized basic pizza. A stand alone pizza share will cost an initial membership fee of $20 plus $15 for each individual-sized basic pizza once a member. Pizza is take-out only with a minimum of three per order.

By offering pizza to members only we can cook outdoors, use our own ingredients and facilities here on the farm, and choose our clients. We will ofcourse be maintaining safe food handling procedures for all the food prep and serving.

What could be better than fresh pizza right from the farm? Not much, but we may be able add a salad and some pretty tasty dressing upon request.

Best of meets . A true experience in .
