✅ Update Aug 19 at 2:45 p.m. - Stoney Hill Regional Park is now open from dawn to dusk.

🛑 Update Aug 17 at 10 a.m. – Stoney Hill Regional Park remains closed. Please do not enter the park for your safety. An update will be provided on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

🛑 Update Aug 14 at 3 p.m. – Stoney Hill Regional Park remains closed for the weekend. An update will be provided on Monday, August 17, 2026. Please do not enter the park for your safety.

On the morning of Friday, August 14, 2026, there was a bear attack in Stoney Hill Regional Park. BC Conservation and the RCMP have requested that the CVRD temporarily close Stoney Hill Regional Park for the safety of visitors. BC Conservation, RCMP, and CVRD Parks staff are actively responding to the incident and assessing the area.

🛑 Please obey signage and stay away from the park at this time. The park will remain closed until it is determined that it is safe for public use. We will update when the park is open.
