On Saturday, February 28th, 2026, we closed the doors to Fat Olive for the very last time.
This past week, and especially Saturday night, was filled with more emotion than we can even begin to describe. There were tears we couldn’t hold back, hugs that lasted a little longer, stories shared across tables, laughter through the sadness, and gratitude for having been able to share this together. The room was full in every sense of the word. Full of people. Full of love. Full of gratitude.
For eight years, Fat Olive was never just a restaurant. It was where birthdays were celebrated and anniversaries toasted to. It was first dates, family dinners, Friday night traditions, and familiar faces walking through the door. It was the comfort of knowing your meal would be delicious and the atmosphere would be warm. It was a place where everyone truly did know your name.
Dorchester, you showed up for us in ways we will never forget. The support this past week was overwhelming. The kind words, the memories, the packed dining room one last time. It meant everything to us.
To every staff member, past and present, thank you. You are the heart of Fat Olive. What it became was only possible because of you, and we are forever grateful. We truly built a Fat Olive family, and while Saturday night held many tearful goodbyes, we know they were really just “see you laters!”. The bonds and love built here will last a lifetime.
There truly are no perfect words for a goodbye like this. Just so much love and gratitude.
