Apparently Jameson has some very strong opinions about Wings Night. 😂🐾

He’s heard there are $1 wings tonight… but frankly, he can’t see what all the fuss is about when there are perfectly good sticks lying around.

A little Trivia update for tomorrow… 🧠🍸

Sadly, our usual Sunday Trivia at 3pm won’t be happening tomorrow, Sunday 23rd August.

We know some of you have made Sunday afternoon Trivia part of your routine, so we’re sorry to be missing this one — but don’t worry, the questions, questionable guesses and fiercely competitive table whispering will all be back very soon. 😄

Our next Trivia afternoon will be Sunday 6th September at 3pm, so pop it in the diary, round up your smartest friends and start brushing up on all those wonderfully useless facts that suddenly become very important once there’s a prize involved.

And if you were already planning a trip to the pub tomorrow, we’ll still be here — along with 78 gins and counting, which should give you plenty to study in the meantime. 🍸😉

BREAKING NEWS: THE OVEN HAS BEEN FOUND!

After an unexpectedly extended adventure, several days of concern and three increasingly suspicious Whippets… our missing oven has finally returned home. 🐾

It has been repaired, reunited with the kitchen and will be BACK IN ACTION TODAY!

Which means…

🍕 FOOD IS BACK!
🍺 DRINKS ARE STILL FLOWING!
🐾 THE WHIPPETS HAVE CALLED OFF THE SEARCH PARTY!

Thank you SO much to everyone who popped in for a drink, shared our posts, sent lovely messages and generally put up with The Great Oven Saga of 2026.

Normal pub service has officially resumed.

The Whippets would also like it noted that the oven is not permitted to go on any more unscheduled holidays.

YES — YOU CAN STILL GET TO DORCHESTER! 🚧

If you’re travelling to Dorchester from Moncton, Dieppe or Memramcook, you may have spotted the rather alarming “ROAD CLOSED” signs on Route 106.

Don’t let them put you off — Dorchester is still very much open and easy to reach! ❤️

There is a short detour around the construction which adds only about 5 minutes to your journey.

We drove the route ourselves and made this little video to show you exactly where to go.

👉 Important: If you’re coming from Moncton/Dieppe on Highway 2, take EXIT 482 for Memramcook Centre/Dorchester. Do not continue to the later exit towards Sackville.

Then simply follow the route in our video and you’ll be back on Route 106 heading south to Dorchester in no time.

Our oven left The Thirsty Whippet with promises of a speedy return.

It has not returned.

The Whippets are becoming increasingly suspicious and have now officially declared it MISSING. 🔎🐾

Sadly, that means we’re unable to serve food again today — and we’re every bit as frustrated about it as you are.

BUT… the pub is OPEN as usual, the taps are flowing, the gin shelves are fully stocked and drinks service is carrying on regardless. 🍺🍸

Thank you so much for bearing with us while we wait for our wayward oven to find its way home. We really appreciate your patience and support. ❤️

Our oven has decided it’s had enough and has broken down, which means unfortunately we won’t be able to serve food today.

We’ve got another lovely month of events ahead, with vintage picnics, trivia, Secret Book Club and the Stitched Whippet Society all returning to the calendar.

Please note that the pub will be closed on Saturday, 1st August while we host a wedding here at the Manor. 💍🥂

Our August events include:

✨ Vintage Picnics — Friday, 7th and Saturday, 8th August
🧠 Trivia — Sunday, 9th and Sunday, 23rd August
📚 Secret Book Club — Sunday, 16th August
🧶 Stitched Whippet Society — Sunday, 31st August
