Update: Eastbound lane on Highway 17 remains closed north of Renfrew, between Pinnacle Road/Storyland Road and Bruce Street/Castleford Road after a fatal collision yesterday morning.
RENFREW, ON) - The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision on Highway 17 at Storyland Road in Horton Township.
On Friday, July 17, 2026, at approximately 6:39 a.m., members of the Renfrew Detachment of the OPP responded to a two-vehicle serious motor vehicle collision. A 19-year-old male from Ottawa, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist attended the scene, alongside emergency crews. The investigation remains ongoing.
The Highway remains closed between Storyland Road and Bruce Street in Horton Township.
