We will be open on Truth and Reconciliation Day.

Being the descendant of a residential school survivor, this day is important to us as it gives time to sit with uncomfortable feelings.

We’re grateful to have a nationally recognized day where everyone takes time to learn about our shared histories, the institutions and systems that inflicted residential schools upon indigenous peoples, our collective future, and our path forward.

It’s nice to not be sitting in these feelings alone anymore and instead have the acknowledgment and promise from every community that what happened won’t happen again.

The residential school my family went to, Blue Quills Residential School, ran until 1990 and has recently been reclaimed as an indigenous university.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, and we're proud to help share the word about the 6th Annual Comox Valley Spirit Walk 🧡

"In orange shirts and ribbon skirts, moccasins and a feather, we embrace the spirits of the ancestors, and we all walk together."

On September 30th, the community will gather at Lewis Park at 10am and walk together through part of Downtown Courtenay, dressed in orange, to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember those who never came home, and recommit to the path of reconciliation.

This walk is organized by and for the community, and everyone is welcome to join.

We respectfully acknowledge that we live, work and play on the Unceded traditional territory of the K’òmoks First Nation, caretakers of this land since time immemorial.

These two silly beans are off the university! They e both been the heart and soul of this shop and so much fun to be around. If you’ve been in for a scoop chances are you been greeted by their happy faces!

We wish them well in their next adventures but will also miss them desperately because they’ve been doing all our social media this past summer 😂

We know someone you may have a very strong reaction to parsley ice cream but we only made a small batch and we won’t make another one until the garden grows some more again. We think you should try it while we’ve got it 🌿

Ok folks, this s’mores one is so tasty. I had to sneak by mid day to get a little cone of it along with chocolate, which was tricky business to eat while riding my bike but we make it work in the name of ice cream.

It’s so tasty in fact that I’m going to make three times as many hand made marshmallows and I’m going to toast them up before smooshing them into our next batch of it.

We’ve got so many of our most requested flavours out, so come on by to try them out!
