This is a MUST READ!!! 🥹🥹🥹

One of my childhood best friends, Duane Giles, was diagnosed 8 years ago with Lupus Nephritis, which is an autoimmune disease that attacked his kidney. He has been on dialysis for the past three years. His options were limited and to make a long story short, Duane needed a new kidney.

About a year ago almost to the day, Duane's fiancee Chantelle shared a Facebook post about Duane’s journey. My wife, April shared to her page and it was seen by the person who needed to see it the most, Leeann Young.
I remember texting Duane, “someone that works for me is going to try and donate her kidney to you. Hopefully she's a match.” And three days later she was approved for the first step to donation.

Today I wanted to recognize Lee’s selfless act. The surgery was yesterday and she has successfully donated her kidney to Duane. They are both doing well. We wish both Lee and Duane both the best in their recovery. I don't know anyone who is more deserving of the help than Duane. He is always there for his family and friends and anyone who needs it, the best friend you could ever ask for. And if you ask Lee, she will tell you that everything happens for a reason and this was all meant to be. She is a caring, wonderful mother of two, a great friend, a great person and an important part of our Kettles family. We are forever in debt to her for her selfless act of kindness.

Clifford Rotary is hosting a night with Dr. Carrie Bridge, a NASA Science Operations Team Chief from Pasadena California. Carrie is a Scientist working on the Mars Rover Mission Curiosity. Carrie is daughter to George Bridge of Minto. This is a "free" event; however a voluntary donation to Ukraine 🇺🇦 would be appreciated. Join us at the Clifford Community Centre, 2 William Street Clifford, ON. on July 26th @ 7 PM.
The goal of the Mars Exploration Program is to explore Mars and to provide a continuous flow of scientific information and discovery through a carefully selected series of robotic orbiters, landers and mobile laboratories interconnected by a high-bandwidth Mars/Earth communications network.

Bio:

Dr. Carrie Bridge is an Astrophysicist and Science System Engineer at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena California. Currently she is the Science Operations Team Chief for the Mars Curiosity rover, working daily with international scientists and engineers to plan the rovers observations and experiments as they explore Gale Crater. Additionally, Dr. Bridge is a Manager for Science Planning helping to overseeing the science operations for JPL’s spacecrafts exploring the outer planets. After degrees in Physics and then Astrophysics from the University of Toronto, she moved to Caltech and focused her postdoctoral work on the study how galaxies form and evolve over time. Carrie grew up in smalls towns throughout Southwestern Ontario, where her family still resides.
