Today, we gather. 🧡

This morning at 9AM, we’re honoured to welcome Tzinquaw back to the Smoking Gun patio to share song, dance, and story with our community in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Everyone is welcome to join us. Come as you are, and take some time to listen, learn and reflect together.

Our café is open regular hours, 8AM–6PM.

The mural that lives permanently on our patio was created by local Coast Salish artist Carrielynn Victor (Xémontalot). It was inspired by Pélawtxw Spindle Whorl Dancers — specifically her niece Onyx — with Garry oak leaves and an acorn woven into the piece as a reminder of the rare ecosystems held here in S’ólh Téméxw.

We’re grateful to have this work living in our space — not just today, but every day — and for the opportunity to continue learning from the people whose land we live, work and gather on.

Smoking Gun respectfully operates on the unceded territory of the S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō) peoples and the Pelólxw Tribe.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we are honoured to once again welcome Tzinquaw to Smoking Gun Coffee Roasters for a ceremony on our patio.

This has become an annual gathering that means a great deal to us. Each year, we’re grateful for the opportunity to come together, to listen, to learn, and to make space for reflection and connection on this important day.

We’d love for you to join us.

The ceremony will begin at 9AM on Wednesday, September 30, on the Smoking Gun patio. Everyone is welcome.

We are incredibly grateful to Tzinquaw for continuing to share this time and space with us.🧡

Well… that was a party!🪩🎂

Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated FIVE years of Smoking Gun DISTRICT 1881 with us today.

Five years of coffee, community, incredible people, swinging for the fence, learning big lessons, and somehow getting to do this thing we love every damn day.

To our cherished community, you’ve been ridiculously good to us. We don’t take any of it for granted. 🫶

To everyone who cupped coffee with us, danced, got (temp) tattooed, drank birthday cake lattes and packed the café today — thanks for pullin up.

And because apparently we’re not quite ready for the party to end…
