KITCHEN STORIES | Since 2018
A lot can happen in a kitchen in eight years.
When Cam and Peggy opened Cultivate in 2018, the idea was pretty simple: good food, genuine hospitality and a place in Chilliwack that people would actually want to come back to.
Cam brought his Red Seal Chef training. Peggy brought years of hospitality leadership. And somewhere along the way, a whole lot of hollandaise got whisked.
Because one thing that has stayed pretty consistent around here is doing as much as we can ourselves.
The hollandaise on your Benny is made in-house. So is the tomato jam tucked into the Brekkie Sandwich. The tomatoes on the avocado toast are oven-dried. There’s house apple chutney on the Turkey Gouda, house cilantro cream on the tacos and even the potato chips are cooked here.
Eight years later, the menu has grown, the kitchen has evolved and we’ve made more Bennys than we could possibly count. But the reason behind it still feels pretty familiar:
Make good food. Take care of people.
And maybe sneak a little pork belly onto the menu whenever possible.
Kitchen Stories: little stories from behind the doors that have been feeding Chilliwack since 2018.
