School sport was a big part of my early years as it is for my boys now. They have had many opportunities in sport but their main goal all along was SCHOOL basketball, particularly high school basketball, and they've worked hard to get there. I was also fortunate to coach school soccer for ten years as a young teacher at Bluefield.⚽️ School sport is important to my family.
PEISAA policies are in place to:
- promote educational growth through sports
- build character and sportsmanship
- encourage fair play and teamwork
- provide equal opportunities for students
- keep sports from interfering too much with school attendance
- support participation and enjoyment rather than only elite competition
In order for all of these goals to be met we need quality coaches, school and admin supports, parental and student efforts, and dedicated officials. We're happy to be a small support to the PEISAA with a particular focus on the officials.
Without the hard work, long drives, and extreme patience of our great officials, school sport would not only fail it's overall purpose of having kids play, it would simply cease to function. We offer a big thanks to the hard working referees, umpires, judges, and all officials helping our kids develop through school sport. Well done!
