We’re still taking it all in… The MacCheesey was named the 2026 PEI Burger Love winner 🍔🏆

To everyone who came in and gave it a try, thank you!! Selling over 7000 burgers in one month is something we never could have imagined, and we’re so proud to have been part of something that made such a huge impact across PEI.

And because we’ve been asked approximately 7000 times… YES. The MacCheesey is officially staying on the menu at The Local 🍔😉

It’ll now be available for $21 with fries. PLUS, for every MacCheesey sold, we’ll be donating $1 to the Anderson House to continue supporting the incredible work they do year round 💛

At the end of the day, Burger Love is all about raising money for an incredible cause. This year, $142,004 was raised for the Anderson House and we’re honoured to have played a small part in that this year.

A huge thank you also goes to our local suppliers who helped make this burger happen, especially ADL and MacPhee's Meats. Supporting local is at the core of what we do, and collaborations like this make it so easy

Wow🥹, we cannot thank everyone enough for the support throughout this years PEI Burger Love. 🍔❤️

What started as a fun burger idea turned into something so much bigger thanks to every single person who ordered it, shared it, voted for it, and cheered us on all month long.

Massive credit to our kitchen team for creating a burger people couldn’t stop talking about, especially our head chef Jessica Tassell who lead our team through a record breaking month. To our front of house staff who absolutely crushed one of the busiest Burger Love seasons we’ve ever had and our General Manager Stephanie Hines who kept everyone on track!

PEI Burger Love is such a special celebration of local restaurants, creativity, and community, and we’re incredibly grateful to be part of it and to be able to contribute to such a great cause!

This winning burger featured a 5 oz Island Beef Patty, Fried Wonton Strips, MacPhee’s Peppered Smoked Bacon, Provolone Brie Cheese, Aged Yellow Cheddar, Shredded Romaine, Dill Pickles, Candied Onion Jam, and Charred Onion Aioli on a Griddled Brioche Bun.

Plus -- we are thrilled to share that records were broken this April as 142,004 burgers were sold... that's $142,004 in funds raised for Anderson House -- the most we've ever raised in a single campaign.
