Long weekend starts tomorrow and I’ve been busy getting some proper Trini food ready for you.

Along with our regular menu, Friday & Saturday we’ve got:

🍛 Chicken Pelau – one of those beach day Trini comfort foods
🌶️ Pholourie– hot, soft, soaked in tamarind chutney and perfect for sharing (or not 😂)
🥭 Homemade Mango Ice Cream – because we need something sweet to finish!
And don’t forget about my absolute fave- Tiramisu

These are just for the long weekend and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

If you haven’t made a reservation yet, give us a call or reserve online. Get your table booked. I have a feeling it’s going to be a busy one!

What a summer it’s been at Ds!

As we head into fall, I’ve been thinking about how grateful I am for everyone who has walked through our doors this summer — our regulars, new faces, visitors from out of town and so many people who keep coming back.

And we’re just getting started. 😊

I’m already planning some fun things for the fall and winter — special dinners, events, some of your favourite dishes and, knowing me, a few surprises along the way.

Summer may be winding down, but there’s lots happening at Ds. ❤️

It’s the long weekend and I feel like cooking a few extra Trini favourites.

So this FRIDAY & SATURDAY, I’m adding Chicken Pelau, Pholourie and homemade Mango Ice Cream to the menu all day.

Nothing fancy… just some really good food that I love making cuz it reminds me of long weekends in 🇹🇹

We’re expecting a busy one, so make your reservations early before we fill up!

MY STORY ❤️

Sometimes when I stand in the dining room at Ds and look around, I have to remind myself how this all started.

I came to Canada from Trinidad many years ago, carrying with me the flavours, memories and food I grew up with. I never imagined that one day I would have a little restaurant in Campbellford where I could share that part of myself with all of you.

Ds didn’t start with a big business plan or a team of investors. It started during COVID with a food truck, a lot of determination, and the hope that people might enjoy the food I loved making.

One order became another.
The food truck became takeout.
Takeout became a restaurant.

And somehow, here we are.

Ds Modern Caribbean has become so much more than a place to eat. It’s where I get to share my Trinidad with you—but in my own way. Beautiful food, cocktails, music, ambiance, laughter and a room where I want everyone who walks through the door to feel genuinely welcomed.

Owning a restaurant isn’t easy. There are incredible nights, and there are nights that make you wonder how you’re going to keep doing it. But then someone tells me they drove an hour just to have dinner here. Someone brings friends back. A table tells me it was one of the best meals they’ve had. A regular walks through the door.

And I remember exactly why I do this.

So if you’ve been saying, “We really need to get back to Ds,” or you’ve been following us and thinking, “We need to try that place”…

Just do it.

Come have dinner with us. Bring someone you love. Order a cocktail. Try something you’ve never had before. Meet new people. Enjoy laughing- cuz you will laugh here 🙂

Every reservation, every dinner, every person who chooses this independent restaurant means more to me than you probably realize.
