Tonight, we unfortunately had a dine-and-dash.
We don’t know the circumstances behind it, and we don’t want to assume the worst. Sometimes people are going through things we know nothing about.
So we just want to say this to our neighbourhood:
If times are tough, talk to us.
If you’re hungry and you’re struggling, please say something. We can’t promise we’ll always be able to help, but we will do what we reasonably can. We would much rather have an honest conversation than have someone feel like walking out without paying is their only option.
Choun Kitchen is a family-owned, family-run little restaurant. We’re not a big corporation with deep pockets. The truth is, margins in this business are incredibly small. When someone leaves without paying, that loss comes directly out of a family working hard every day to pay our staff, buy our ingredients, keep the lights on and keep serving this community.
There are real people behind these doors. Our family. Our staff. Our kids. We work incredibly hard for every table we serve.
We believe in taking care of our neighbours, and we hope our neighbours will take care of us too.
